Deepak Kumar Shah, the candidate of the National Independent Party (NISP), has won in Sunsari Constituency No. 4 under the House of Representatives election. Shah won by securing 42,771 votes. He defeated his nearest rival, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki of the Nepali Congress, by a margin of 26,184 votes. Karki received only 16,587 votes. Similarly, UML candidate Jagadish Kusiat received 8,631 votes, while Nepali Communist Party's Mohammad Mahfuz Ansari received 3,432.
There are a total of 137,340 voters in this constituency. Out of which 85,137 votes were cast. Out of which 6,674 votes were invalid, according to the Returning Officer's Office.
