Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, the candidate of the National Independent Party (NISP), has been elected in Sunsari-3. Chaudhary was elected with 47,421 votes, while his nearest rival, Vijay Kumar Gachhadar of the Nepali Congress, got 20,501 votes. The difference between Chaudhary and Gachhadar is 26,920.
Bhagwati Chaudhary of the CPN-UML has got 15,083 votes. 95,185 votes were cast in Sunsari, which has 134,302 voters.
