A young woman who drowned in the Tamor River while taking a picture has been rescued.
Sushma Poudel, 24, wife of Govinda Baral of Budhiganga Rural Municipality-1 in Morang, was rescued on Saturday, police said. She slipped and fell into the Tamor River while taking a picture. She was rescued with the help of a police team deployed from the Mulghat Police Station, the Armed Police Force, and locals.
Police said she was rescued 500 meters from the place where she was swept away. She has been sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan for treatment.
She fell into the river while taking a picture on an alternative route built for carrying goods of the Arun Third Hydropower in the Tamor River in Mulghat, Dhankuta Municipality-9.
