In Panchthar, Nepali Congress' Narendra Kumar Kerung is increasing his lead. He is being followed by Shram Sanskriti Party's Hastaraj Sherma (Brabim).
Sherma, who had been leading since the initial stage, has started falling behind as soon as the counting of votes in Yangwarak Rural Municipality began. Kerung has received 8,380 votes after counting the votes in wards 1 and 2 of Falgund Rural Municipality along with 4 rural municipalities of the district, Miklajung, Tumbewa, Falelung and Yangwarak. Similarly, Sherma is trailing Kerung with 6,776 votes.
CPN-UML's Aindra Sundar Nembang is in third place with 6,367 votes, while Nepali Communist Party's Harka Bahadur Nembang Mixo is in fourth place with 5,381 votes. Tek Bahadur Limbu of the National Transformation Party received 1,550 votes and Mahendra Bikram Thamsuhang of the National Independence Party received 1,163 votes.
Counting of 29 wards of five local levels has been completed in Panchthar, which has eight local levels and 60 wards. Now, 31 wards are left, including 14 in Phidim Municipality, 5 in Falgunanda Rural Municipality, 5 in Kummayak and 7 in Hilihang.
71,170 votes were cast in the district.
