Durga Regmi, a district member of the National Independent Party (NISP), Morang, passed away on Friday. He had suddenly collapsed at the counting site of Morang constituency number 2.
Regmi suddenly fainted shortly after the counting of votes that began in the morning and died on the spot, said Morang Police Chief SP Kabit Katuwal. Police said he may have died of a heart attack.
The body of the deceased Regmi has been taken to Koshi Hospital for postmortem.
