The voter turnout in the House of Representatives elections held in the mountainous district of Solukhumbu on Thursday was 48 percent.

The district, which has only one constituency, has 85,515 voters, out of which 41,411 votes were cast. Of the voters, 21,590 were men and 19,811 were women.

There are 139 polling stations in this district, which has eight local levels. After the voting, the ballot boxes will be brought to the district headquarters, Salleri, by helicopter on Friday morning from the centers in the upper Himalayan region and by road from the lower Himalayan region, informed Chief Election Officer Chandra Kumar Pokharel.
