The border crossing will remain completely closed until 12 midnight on Thursday, targeting the election.
The Kimathanka border crossing in the northern part of Sankhuwasabha district, which borders China, is considered important in terms of local trade, movement and supply arrangements. However, as security sensitivity increases during the election period, it has been decided to close the border crossing to prevent possible unwanted activities and provide a safe environment for voters.
In a notice issued by Chief District Officer Srijana Thapaliya, it is stated that security agencies have been instructed to adopt high alert to conduct the election peacefully and in a dignified manner.
