Police have taken three people into custody on charges of engaging in anti-election activities with the aim of influencing the House of Representatives elections.
The arrested persons from various places have been taken into custody by a team deployed from the District Police Office, Sunsari and subordinate police offices and further investigation has been initiated, it has been reported.
The arrested persons are Prabin Mishra, 28, of Mangsebung Rural Municipality-4, Ilam district, Sitaram Budhathoki, 51, of Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-10, Morang, and Dilliram Bohora, 46, of Salpasilicho Rural Municipality-4, Bhojpur.
According to the police, further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
