Fifteen people were injured in a bus accident in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-7, Andheri, Udayapur under the Madan Bhandari Highway.
At 12 noon on Monday, the bus (Ba 2 Kha 6257) coming from Katari towards Gaighat lost control at a bend and fell 50 meters off the road. Out of the 15 injured in the accident, 4 were seriously injured and 11 were slightly injured, said Rajan Chapagain, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Udayapur.
According to him, the injured are being treated at the District Hospital, Udayapur. The bus driver is normal and the incident is being investigated, according to the police. The Andheri section of the Madan Bhandari Highway is a high-accident area. Locals say that various awareness programs, including hoarding boards and thermoplastics, have been launched to reduce accidents, but they have not been effective.
