Police have seized 955 kg of marijuana being transported from Chandibazar in Ahale, Dhankuta, towards Sunsari.

Police seized two vehicles and a quantity of marijuana on Tuesday morning from Bardanda in Bishnupaduka, Dharan Sub-metropolitan City 20.

In this process, the police have taken two people into custody. The arrested have been identified as Sandeep Kumar Majhi, 28, of Kolbi Municipality-8, Bara, and Nagendra Raj Shrestha, 33, of Chandragiri Municipality-8, Kathmandu, according to Dharan Police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Area Police Office, Dharan, Grihan Babu Rai, informed that the marijuana was seized during the investigation. 460 kg of marijuana was seized from the vehicle (Ba Pra 01 027 Cha 1143) driven by Majhi. Similarly, 495 kg of marijuana was seized from the vehicle (B AC 3236) driven by Shrestha.

Rai said that the quantity of marijuana was seized when the vehicles coming from Chandi Bazaar towards Bishnupaduka were found suspicious and were checked. The arrested persons and vehicles have been kept at the Area Police Office, Dharan.
