Nepal Janmukti Party's Khandru Karuwa, who has filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives in Jhapa Constituency No. 1, has announced his support for Nepali Communist Party (NCP) candidate Ashesh Ghimire.

Karuwa, who entered the field with the election symbol 'Ghar', expressed his support by saying that he agrees with Ghimire's political agenda and vision.

15 candidates, including two independents, are in the election fray in this constituency.

UML's Ramchandra Upreti and Congress's Keshavraj Pandey and Rastriya Swatantra Party's Nisha Dangi are seen as the main competitors in this constituency.

Similarly, Hemraj Karki of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Kewalram Rai of Shram Sanskriti Party, Olin Rajbanshi of Rastriya Sadbhavana Party, Naresh Kumar Lawati of Ujjaya Nepal, Manavhadur Sanwa of Federal Democratic National Forum, Rama Meche of JSP Nepal, Santosh Tamang of Mongol National Organization, and Hiranya Bhattarai of Nepal Mazdoor Kisan Party are also aggressively engaged in the election campaign.

In Jhapa-1, where a tough competition is expected between the candidates of the big parties, the role of small parties and independent candidates is considered decisive.
