More than 100 people have fallen ill after attending a wedding banquet in Jantedhunga Rural Municipality-6, Diplung. They have been falling ill since the 22nd after attending a wedding banquet on Magh 21.

According to Kul Bahadur Poudel, Chief of the Khotang Health Office, they fell ill due to food poisoning. ‘They have been diagnosed with food poisoning,’ Poudel said, ‘Treatment is ongoing.’ 

They were treated at three different places until Saturday, and since the number of patients started decreasing, they have been treated at Nigalbas Bhanjyang in the ward since Sunday morning, said Khem Bahadur Khadka, Vice-Chairman of the rural municipality. 

They have been experiencing fever, chills, and diarrhea. They have been experiencing these symptoms 12 hours after eating the feast. The bride and groom have fallen ill.

The RRT team of the rural municipality health branch, the health office, and a team of people’s representatives have been deployed to treat the patients. Khadka said that the health office’s manpower has been called in after the number of patients increased.
