Police have said that a person has died due to a 'syringe attack' in Satrabighe, Bhadrapur Municipality-10, Jhapa.
According to DSP Khagendra Khadka, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Jhapa, a local resident, Khem Dhakal, has died from a syringe attack. Dhakal was attacked with a syringe near his house on Thursday evening. Police have arrested 26-year-old Dipendra Kumar Singh of Bishnupur-1, Siraha, who was involved in the attack.
Singh, an MBBS student at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, had been in Jhapa for the past few days. Locals say that he was staying at a hotel near Chandragadhi Airport and was checking on Dhakal's house. Police said that after finding Dhakal's house, he was followed and stabbed in the neck with a syringe. Dhakal died during treatment. Dhakal's daughter is also studying MBBS in Dharan.
Police said that since the nature of the incident is serious, the investigation will be carried out based on the collection of additional evidence, post-mortem report and forensic examination.
