Sankhuwasabha Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Chiranjivi Adhikari issued a notice on Friday urging all stakeholders to fully comply with the code of conduct.
The District Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer has objected to the fact that the vote survey is being conducted by mentioning the names of candidates and political parties.
Although the code of conduct has been implemented since Magh 4 for the February 21 House of Representatives elections, it is reported that opinion polls are being conducted through some social media platforms in Sankhuwasabha.
According to Chapter-2, Section 4 (p) of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, it is completely prohibited to conduct opinion polls for any candidate or political party, make its results public or publish them from the date of registration of the candidate's nomination until the voting is completed.
Sankhuwasabha Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Chiranjivi Adhikari issued a notice on Friday, urging all stakeholders to fully comply with the code of conduct.
The Commission says that since it is a common responsibility to make the elections dignified and fair, everyone from social media users to political parties and candidates should behave responsibly.
