Ongdi Sherpa, 45, of Chainpur Municipality-2 Pokhari, seriously injured his father-in-law Ningma when he attacked him with a sharp weapon, informed Kumar Prasad Mainali, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office.
He was arrested on Wednesday night. Police investigation revealed that the attack took place while he was sitting at home.
A five-member police team from the temporary police post Bhartiwal Danda and the Area Police Office Bana arrived immediately after the incident under the command of Police Inspector Sundar Kumar Yadav. Ongdi, who fled after the khukuri attack, was arrested while hiding in the village, according to the police.
