Two people have died after a tipper and a motorcycle collided on the inner road section of Bargachhi, Damak Municipality-1.
The accident occurred on Wednesday when a tipper (Me 1 Kha 2884) heading towards Ramchowk from Damak and a motorcycle (Pr 1-01-018 Pa 8303) heading towards Peltimari from Durga Mandir collided with each other.
The motorcycle driver, Pravesh Rai, 22, a resident of Ilam Chulachuli Rural Municipality-4, and the rider on the back of the motorcycle, Janam Rai, 19, a resident of the same area, were seriously injured in the accident. They were taken to Damak Hospital for treatment, but both were declared dead by the doctors, according to the police.
The tipper driver, Hibaraj Rai, 32, a resident of Ratmate, Triyuga Municipality-9, Udayapur district, has been taken into custody by the police. Both the tipper and the motorcycle have been taken into custody by the Area Police Office, Damak.
The bodies of both the deceased are currently kept at Damak Hospital, while further investigation into the incident is underway, the police said.
