Police seized 90 kg of marijuana from the foothills of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6 in Dhankuta on Wednesday afternoon.
DSP Gyan Kumar Mahato, Information Officer of the District Police Office, informed that the amount of marijuana was recovered from a Sumo vehicle with registration number Ba 10 Chha 5615. Police say that the vehicle is Indian, despite having a Nepali number plate.
90 kg was seized from a Sumo vehicle heading towards Bhedetar from Saptingtar in Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality. The driver of the vehicle is absconding. While the police were chasing it from Mulghat, it is said that two people with Mongolian faces fled after abandoning the vehicle near the Yasmali Hotel in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6.
The vehicle has been kept at the Mulghat police station. It is said that it was found with marijuana in 4 bags.
