The candidates to open a bank account include Padam Bahadur Tamang of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Arjun Karki of the UML, and Mingma Sherpa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP).
Out of the 16 candidates in Sankhuwasabha, only 3 have opened new bank accounts for election expenses as of Sunday.
The remaining 13 people have not yet opened an account and submitted their details. The candidates who have opened a bank account
include Padam Bahadur Tamang of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Arjun Karki of the UML, and Mingma Sherpa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP).
According to Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Chiranjivi Adhikari, letters have been sent to candidates who have not opened an account and who have violated the code of conduct. 'If they continue to violate the code of conduct even after the letter, those candidates will be recommended to the Election Commission for action,' he said.
Section 16 of the Election Code of Conduct 2082 stipulates that candidates must mandatorily open a new bank account to cover all election-related expenses.
