A ward-level women's and men's football tournament is scheduled to be held in Nalbu, Meringden Rural Municipality-6, from Magh 25.

The winner of the competition organized by the Nalbu Limbu Society will receive 201,000 rupees and the runner-up will receive 101,000 rupees. The winner of the women's category will receive 51,100 rupees and the runner-up will receive 31,100 rupees.

The first prize in both categories is sponsored by Suk Bahadur Nalbo and Manmaya Nalbo's family in memory of them, while the second prize is sponsored by Lal Bahadur Nalbo, Mrs. Tulamaya Nalbo, and their sons Dil Bahadur and Manmaya Nalbo's family, informed Yogen Nalbo, secretary of the society.

The two teams that reach the semi-finals of the men's football will be given a cash incentive of 10,000 rupees, the organizers said.

The society has stated that the man of the match of each game will be awarded Rs 1,000, the best player in each category, the highest scorer, the best defender, the best midfielder, the best goalkeeper and the best player will be awarded Rs 2,000. According to the society's president, Deubahadur Limbu, the competition is being organized to promote tourism in the region and develop sports.
