Two people have died and three others have been injured in a jeep accident that occurred in Nundaki, Chainpur Municipality-1, Sankhuwasabha.
The jeep (PR 1-001 CH 8247) heading from Chainpur to Thuthire met with an accident near Nundaki on Saturday. According to Kumar Prasad Mainali, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, the cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
Among those who lost their lives in the accident, the identity of Bir Bahadur Limbu, a resident of Maidane, Chainpur Municipality-1, has been revealed. The name of the other deceased has not been revealed yet, according to the police. Both the bodies have been sent to the Basic Hospital, Chainpur for post-mortem after completing the legal process.
Bhim Bahadur Thaklung, who was injured in the accident, has been referred to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan for further treatment. It is said that the condition of the other injured is normal.
The police said that further investigation into the accident is underway.
