A 555-member main election mobilization committee of the Nepali Communist Party has been formed in Jhapa-5.

The committee was announced under the leadership of central member Surendra Basnet at a constituency-level meeting held in Damak on Saturday. Central member and youth leader Ranjit Tamang of the NCP has become a candidate in this area.

The committee includes Basnet, the outgoing executive vice-chairman of the National Youth Council, as well as party central members Dipenwala Rai, Birendra Basnet, Gagan Puri, all provincial committee members, district committee members, all municipal committees and ward committee office bearers. Similarly, central member Pravin Chamling has taken over the responsibility of the monitoring committee chief.

The member secretary of the committee is former Maoist Center regional coordinator Santosh Gautam.

Coordinator Basnet informed that a high command consisting of central members and a 49-member secretariat consisting of central members, provincial members and municipal chairmen have also been formed to intensify the election campaign.

The newly formed Election Mobilization Committee has Dipenbala Rai as the head of the publicity department, Birendra Basnet as the head of the economic department, Gagan Puri as the head of the dialogue and inter-party coordination, and Dambar Pulami as the head of the volunteer department.

Similarly, Ramesh Guragain is the head of the teacher-intellectual coordination, Anisha Jhangar as the head of the women's department, Om Basnet as the coordinator of voters outside the area, Durga Chaulgain as the office department, Bedu Gautam as the coordinator of the squatters' coordination department, Prashant Bhandari as the worker coordination department, and Shankar Basnet as the candidate representative. Hukum Singh is the coordinator of the Javas Morcha, and Nagendra Sanwa is the coordinator of the senior citizens.
