Advocate Swagat Nepal is going to contest the election from the RPP. He is going to contest the election from the RPP in Jhapa-2, informed RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha.

'Political and intellectual personality Advocate Swagat Nepal has been scheduled to announce his candidacy for Jhapa Constituency No. 2 on Monday, Magh 5, at the RPP central office,' said Spokesperson Shrestha.

Shrestha also mentioned that the RPP is moving forward vigorously to establish it as a strong nationalist center and a decisive political force.

Nepal said that he is going to be a candidate using the RPP's election symbol, the halo. 'I am going to be a candidate using the halo symbol, not joining the party,' said Nepal. 

Nepal was an independent candidate from Jhapa-2 in 2079 BS. He was defeated by UML's Devraj Ghimire. UML has made Ghimire its candidate this time too.
