The host Basaha Club has announced that the competition will be held from Magh 15 and the final match will be held on the 22nd. The match will be held at the Naradamuni Thulung Stadium in Chaudandigadhi Municipality-4, Basaha.
Eight teams from various national levels will participate in the competition. According to club president Dinesh Rai, the title winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 500,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 300,000.
The participating teams are the host Basaha-11, LX City Morang-11, The Young Brothers Sunsari-11, Sahles Club Siraha, Nepal Sports Club Rautahat, APF Club Kathmandu, New Triyuga Sports Club Saptari and Jhapa-11.
The Gold Cup, which is being organized in memory of democratic warrior Naradamuni Thulung, has been organized with the final match being held on the day of his ascension. The Naradamuni Thulung Memorial Gold Cup is the district's most continuously held football tournament.
Chaudandigadhi Municipality has provided financial support of Rs 1 million for the Gold Cup, which is being run with the help of various partners and donors. The organizers estimate that the Gold Cup will cost around Rs 2.3 million.
