A person died after falling in the Ala area of Makalu Rural Municipality-3 in Sankhuwasabha on Thursday afternoon.
According to locals, Durga Bahadur Rai, aged around 42, a resident of Makalu-3, fell 25 meters from the cliff of the Siong River while carrying water through a plastic pipe to his cardamom farm.
Police said he died on the spot after falling directly into the Siong River. As soon as the locals received information about the incident, they informed the Area Police Office, Hedangna by telephone.
After receiving the information, a 3-member police team under the command of Police Assistant Constable Nazarman Rai was immediately deployed to the spot. Police said the spot has been secured.
According to police, the body of the deceased was brought to the District Hospital for postmortem on Friday. The spot is about 7 kilometers west-northwest of the Area Police Office, Hedangna.
