Two people have died and seven others have been injured in a Bolero jeep accident on the inner road section at Ghurundu Nayapani in Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-6 of Solukhumbu.
Around 12 noon on Monday, a double-cab Bolero jeep with the number BAD 7742, which was heading towards Ward 7 Barodi Rocham from Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-6, fell about 100 meters off the road.
The driver and a passenger died on the spot in the accident, the District Police Office, Solukhumbu has said.
The deceased are Bolero driver 28-year-old Pradeep Rai, a resident of Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-5, Kaku, and passenger 28-year-old Kushum Rai. DSP Manojit Kunwar informed that both the deceased have been brought to District Hospital, Phaplu for postmortem.
The injured in the accident, 27-year-old Balram Rai and 30-year-old Devendra Rai, have suffered serious head injuries and 31-year-old Suresh Rai is also in critical condition and have been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment. The other injured, 19-year-old Manoj Rai and 17-year-old Sandeep Rai, have been sent to the District Hospital, Phaplu.
Similarly, the condition of 27-year-old Devika Rai and 27-year-old Sabina Rai is normal and they have been discharged after treatment at the health post, Waku, according to the police. The cause of the accident is being investigated, the district police said.
