Tax-related services have been resumed in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality. The work previously being done by the Taxpayer Service Office, Lukla, has been handed over to the rural municipality.
The Taxpayer Service Office has been handed over to the rural municipality as per the decision of the Cabinet meeting held on Kartik 17 to handle the work of the tax office from the local level.
Along with this, all services that were flowing from the Taxpayer Service Office in Lukla have been resumed through the rural municipality, informed Chief Administrative Officer Nawaraj Gautam. An agreement has been reached between the Internal Revenue Office, Lahan, and the rural municipality for the operation of the service, and tax-related work has been started through the rural municipality.
Municipal Chairman Mingma Chhiri Sherpa said that it will be easier for businessmen in the Khumbu region as all tax-related work will now be done from the municipality. He said that the hassle of having to go to Lahan to pay taxes has now been eliminated.
Chief Administrative Officer Gautam said that arrangements have been made to issue personal and professional PAN numbers from the municipality and to pay all types of taxes. Currently, tax work is being done by arranging employees from the municipality.
