One person was killed and four others were injured in a tractor accident on the inner road section of Chandukhola in Gauradaha Municipality-5, Jhapa on Friday night.
According to the police, an empty tractor (number 1 Me 1 Ta 7108) heading from Balubathan to Fakitip village lost control and met with an accident at around 10:30 pm on Friday. The tractor's occupant, 35-year-old Mahamat Majim, a resident of Gauradaha Municipality-7, was seriously injured in the accident.

The injured are Satya Narayan Rajbanshi, 49, of Gauradaha-7, Sanjit Rishidev, 23, Abhijul Miya, 23, and Kelu Miya, 34, of Gauradaha-7. Satya Narayan Rajbanshi has a minor injury to his left leg, while Sanjit Rishidev has injuries to various parts of his body.
The hospital has stated that Abhijul Miya has an injury to his left leg and his condition is moderate. Although Kelu Miya has an injury to his chest, he is able to speak and his condition is normal. All the injured are being treated at Damak Hospital.
The tractor driver, 38-year-old Yama Prasad Rajbanshi of Gauradaha Municipality-7, is absconding after the accident, police said. A search operation is underway for the absconding driver and further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
