Koshi Province Police Chief DIG Binod Ghimire has said that the security mechanism has been fully mobilized with the elections to be held on Falgun 21 as the focus.
During his inspection of Sankhuwasabha, he met journalists on Thursday and clarified that the active cooperation of all parties is necessary as it is the constitutional mandate of the government to conduct the election.
‘The biggest Arjuna Drishti right now is the Falgun 21 election,’ DIG Ghimire said. ‘Not only the security agencies, but also political parties, civil society and media personnel play an equally important role in making the election fearless, peaceful and fair.’
He said that the police alone cannot make the election successful, adding that coordination and cooperation of all stakeholders is indispensable. He said that media personnel in particular can make a great contribution to maintaining public trust through factual and responsible reporting.
According to DIG Ghimire, the polling stations in the district have been classified as highly sensitive, sensitive and normal. He informed that a security plan will be prepared accordingly and the necessary manpower will be mobilized.
‘Serious security arrangements will be made at every polling station and venue,’ he said, ‘As the electoral process is the backbone of democracy, we will not allow any kind of unwanted activity to take place.’
