Police have arrested Amrit Magar, who had escaped from Kathmandu Central Jail during the Genji movement. Magar, a resident of Siddhicharan Municipality in Okhaldhunga, was arrested by the police while he was working at an under-construction hydropower plant in Sanwa, Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-4, Taplejung.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam, he was in the central prison after being convicted of rape. Security sources said that the police have increased special surveillance to search for more escaped prisoners.
