A trekking tour from Udayapurgadhi to Chaudandigadhi has begun. The trek was organized by the Nepal Army from Wednesday with the aim of preserving and promoting the historical forts and forts of Udayapur.

The Nepal Army's Pashupati Prasad Battalion has officially launched a five-day, 91-kilometer trek from the historic Udayapurgadhi to Chaudandigadhi.

At a ceremony organized at the historic fort complex in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-5, Nepal Army Eastern Command Commander Lieutenant General Gaurav Kumar KC inaugurated the trek by handing over the national flag and the Nepal Army flag to the trekkers.

The Pashupati Prasad Battalion has stated that the trek has been started to showcase the importance of the historic forts and forts of Udayapur district and to promote tourism. The trek, which started from Udayapurgadhi on Poush 23, will pass through Dhungre, Dumre, Puwarebhanjyang, Saune, Birendra Bazaar and will end on Poush 27 after reaching Chaudandigadhi.

The first day of the trek is 16 kilometers from Udayapurgadhi to Dhungre, the second day is 21 kilometers from Dhungre to Puware Bhanjyang, the third day is 21 kilometers from Puware Bhanjyang to Sawane, the fourth day is 24 kilometers from Sawane to Birenta Bazaar, and the fifth day is 15 kilometers from Birenta Bazaar to Chaudandigadhi Durbar in Chaudandigadhi Municipality-1.

The army has stated that competitive programs such as poetry, essay, and answer key will be conducted in schools along the trek route. Soldiers dressed in the historical black uniforms of the Nepali Army, other security agencies, local people's representatives, employees, journalists, and the general public are participating in the trek.

Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality Chairman Man Bahadur Kepchaki Magar, Rautamai Rural Municipality Chairman Birendra Kumar Magar, Chief District Officer Dharmaraj Joshi, heads of security agencies in the district, local level people's representatives, and the general public were present at the opening ceremony.
