A wild male elephant has been found dead in the field of Lal Bahadur Rasaili in Danda village of Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-3, Jhapa.
The cause of the elephant's death has not yet been revealed. As soon as the information about the incident was received, a police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Budhabare, Jhapa under the command of Police Assistant Inspector Gehanath Timsina reached the spot and secured the area.
The police have informed the Division Forest Office, Bhadrapur, Jhapa about the incident. It is said that a team from the Forest Office has reached the spot and is preparing to prepare a report and proceed with further investigation.
It is said that the real cause of the elephant's death will be revealed only after the post-mortem and investigation by the Forest Office. The initial guess from the police is that the elephant may have died due to electrocution.
