The names of five people have been recommended directly from CPN-UML Solukhumbu for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. The meeting of the UML District Committee held on Monday directly recommended the names of five leaders, including the former Defense Minister, as candidates.
The recommended candidates include party central member and former defense minister Manvir Rai, district chair Duf Kumar Bastola, district secretary Kalpana Rai, youth leader Birudas Shrestha and leader Suryakumari Sunuwar.
In the district committee meeting, most of the youth had raised the voice that new faces should be given priority. District secretary Kalpana Rai informed that there was a voice that the party should make new candidates who have not been MPs before from the party and have not had the opportunity.
