Pasang Lamu Sherpa, 51, from Mangkhim, Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4, a remote area of Sankhuwasabha district, has been rescued by helicopter and taken to Kathmandu for free treatment after suffering from serious health problems.
Mountaineer Mingma Sherpa of Balung, Makalu Rural Municipality-1, arranged a free helicopter for the treatment of Pasang Lamu Sherpa on Sunday. Since the road network and health services are limited in remote areas, helicopter rescue has become the only option. He was safely taken to Kathmandu by Heli Everest at the initiative of the mountaineer Sherpa.
Mountaineer Mingma, who is active in humanitarian services, has previously also helped in the rescue and treatment of the poor and helpless.
