The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has started holding general meetings and cadre meetings in Bhotkhola and Makalu rural municipalities in the northern part of Sankhuwasabha since Poush 16.
According to the party, helicopters have been used as an alternative means of transportation as it is difficult to reach the settlements in remote areas in a short time.
Mingma Sherpa of Makalu rural municipality-1, Balung, who recently left the post of Congress general committee member and joined the RSS, is also involved in this campaign. Sherpa is actively participating in the organization expansion using his own private helicopter. He has been providing helicopter services through the 'Heli Everest' company.
According to the RSS district president Bhaktanarayan Shrestha, cadre meetings, general meetings and party entry programs are being conducted by reaching every village through helicopters. 'Activists hold programs in villages, the geographical situation of Sankhuwasabha is very difficult,' he said, 'It is not possible to reach all places in a short time, that is why we are reaching villages by helicopter with the help of Sherpaji.'
According to him, this campaign is also a promotional program targeting the elections to be held on Falgun 21.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has held rallies in Bhotkhola and Makalu rural municipalities, as well as in Terse area of Panchkhapan Municipality, Maidane of Chainpur Municipality, and Nundhaki. The party claims that the rallies are receiving significant public participation and enthusiastic support from locals.
According to party sources, the RSS is also preparing to field Mingma Sherpa as a candidate in this election.
Tourism entrepreneur Sherpa is considered one of the famous mountain climbers. He has climbed more than 14 mountains above eight thousand meters. The RSS is confident that his experience in tourism, adventure sports, and local development can provide new political options in the district.
This organization expansion campaign carried out via helicopter has been described by some as expensive and unusual, while others have evaluated it as a practical and effective measure for remote districts.
