The Nepal Army has neutralized a suspicious object found near the Kankai Mai Khola Bridge on the East-West Highway in Kankai Municipality-4.
A suspicious object that looked like a pressure cooker and wire was found in a black bag here on Saturday morning. As soon as the Jhapa police received the news, they sealed off the place where the suspicious object was found and informed the Nepali Army's bomb disposal team. After that, a team deployed from the army's Shree Aridman Battalion deactivated the suspicious object at 10 am, according to the Jhapa police.
A loud noise was heard from the suspicious object while it was being taken under the Kankai Bridge and deactivated. A pamphlet with the words 'Sanatan Suraksha Sena Nepal' was also found there.
The pamphlet mentions demands such as the restoration of the monarchy and declaring Nepal a Vedic Sanatan Hindu Rashtra. Similarly, the pamphlet also warns of boycotting the upcoming elections on 21 Falgun if the demands are not met.
