Nepal Airlines Corporation, which has been operating Kathmandu-Taplejung flights twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, will now operate flights on Wednesdays as well.

The flights to Suketar Airport were added after considering the passenger demand, informed Narayan Kumar Karki, station in-charge of NIMG's Taplejung.

He said that it was easy for NIMG to add flights as the corporation currently has two Twin Otter aircraft in operation. Karki said that now there will be flights three days a week, once a day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Up to 14 children and 13 other passengers from Kathmandu and Taplejung arrive at a time on the corporation's aircraft. The office has stated that up to 15 to 16 people can travel on the return flight.

Since fuel has to be brought for the return flight from Kathmandu to Taplejung, fewer passengers are allowed to fly. The fare is 9,400 rupees. Only the corporation has been operating flights here.
