It has been found that an ambulance carrying patients was used in marijuana smuggling. A joint team from the Belbari and Kerabari Area Police Offices of Morang has seized 521 kg of marijuana that was being transported using an ambulance.

Police have taken two people into custody from the scene along with the marijuana. 

Upon seeing a police team deployed for checking in Kerabari Rural Municipality-5 based on a special tip-off, the police stopped an ambulance bearing the number Pr.1-06-001 Jha 0004 and opened fire in the air after the person inside tried to flee. Nischal Rai of Dhankuta Shahidbhumi-6 and Khagendra Limbu of Sagurigadhi-2 were taken into custody while trying to flee. 

According to the Koshi Province Police Office, 16 packets of marijuana were found hidden inside the ambulance. 

The police have taken the seized marijuana and the ambulance into custody. The police have stated that further investigation is underway against both the arrested persons for drug trafficking.
