A two-day training conducted for capacity development of members of self-reliant groups and ward-level women's networks in Dewanganj and Gadhi rural municipalities has been completed.

The program, facilitated by Voice of Children Itahari and supported by KNH Germany, was conducted over two days on Poush 20 and 21 with the aim of enhancing the capacity of women in self-reliant groups.

Raju Ghimire, Deputy Director of Voice of Children, informed that training on quality education, health, nutrition and overall child rights, including empowerment of women from economically, socially and politically backward and vulnerable communities in Dewanganj and Gadhi rural municipalities, and child protection, was provided to children.

According to him, 101 self-reliant groups have been formed in Dewanganj and Gadhi rural municipalities. More than 1,600 women have been organized from these groups and they have been holding weekly meetings to make their plans, coordinating with the local government and spreading awareness among the community about women's rights and child rights, said Ghimire, Deputy Director of Voice of Children.

Similarly, Ghimire, Deputy Director of Voice of Children, said that women members of self-reliant groups are coordinating with the local government to raise awareness in the community on women's rights and child rights, carry out income-generating activities, and develop the leadership of members. He said that women in particular have played a leading role in economic, social, and leadership development and child protection issues through self-reliant groups and ward-level women's networks.

In the training, members of the ward-level women's network of self-reliant groups have said that women's empowerment and child protection activities in the community have been effective through the self-reliant group program.

Similarly, women members have said in the program that the ward-level women's network will be transformed into a municipal-level network in the future. In addition, members of the self-reliant groups have also expressed their commitment to continue their active contribution to the promotion and protection of child rights along with economic, social, and leadership development.
