For the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21, the UML has recommended the names of three people from Khotang for the proportional representation category. The names of Ushakala Rai for the women category and Karna Bahadur Ghale and Khagendra Rai for the indigenous category have been recommended.
According to UML Khotang Vice President Kumar Acharya, on Poush 28, UML Khotang President Dev Bikram Rai recommended the names after holding discussions with the province, then a meeting with district office bearers, and then a virtual meeting with the leaders of the upper committee in the district.
‘Three names have been unanimously recommended for the proportional representation,’ Acharya said, ‘We will send the names for the direct representation again after the party asks for them.’
