A bailey bridge has been brought to connect the Feme River on the Phidim-Yangnam-Nangin-Falout road section.
The bailey bridge is being brought from the Kabeli River on the Phidim-Taplejung road section of the Mechi Highway. After the flood of Asoj 12, 2081, the diversion built on the Feme River was washed away repeatedly, making travel difficult.
The federal government provided a 50-meter-long bailey bridge in Kabeli to connect to the Feme River, and the process of connecting the bailey bridge here was initiated through the Infrastructure Development Office under the provincial government.
Sungabha Builders and Super Shankhamul Company has signed an agreement to connect the bailey bridge to the river here. Construction entrepreneur Kamal Gautam said that the bridge installation work, which was contracted for Rs 13.982 million, will be completed within two months.
From Phidim, one can reach the three borders of India and Sikkim and the Falout area through Yangnam, Nangin, Sidin, Lungrupa, Prangwung and Memeng via the Feme River. After the bridge here was washed away, transportation and shipping services were affected.
