On November 21, a newborn baby weighing 1,750 grams, who was born prematurely at 7 months, was successfully treated in an incubator at the District Hospital, Sankhuwasabha.

The baby, who lost weight to 1,500 grams within a few days of birth, was sent to Nobel Medical College for further treatment. The baby, who was treated at Nobel Medical College for 7 days, was sent to District Hospital Sankhuwasabha for treatment using a state-of-the-art incubator. 

After continuous treatment in the incubator, the baby's health has improved significantly and the weight has increased to 1,900 grams. The baby was born to Prabina Limbu, 17, of Dhupi, Sabhapokhari 1, on November 21. The baby was put on a ventilator for 7 days after experiencing breathing problems at birth. 

After that, he was kept under observation in the NICU for 18 days, informed pediatrician Dr. Shanti Shiwakoti. After about a month of intensive treatment, both the mother and the baby were discharged from the hospital on Wednesday after their health improved.

Nursing Trust UK had handed over two state-of-the-art incubators to District Hospital Sankhuwasabha about a month ago. Hospital Chief Dr. Santosh Dev said that the incubator is essential for keeping premature newborns in a safe environment and treating them, and it has made a significant contribution to the hospital's neonatal service capacity.
