One person has died in a road accident in Damak Municipality, Jhapa.
The accident occurred on Tuesday night on the inner road section of Laligurans Tole, Damak Municipality-7.
A 220 cc Pulsar motorcycle bearing Bagmati Province-02-017 Pa 3344, which was heading towards Ratuwapul from Hanuman Temple, lost control and fell into a drain on the east side of the road, police said.
The motorcycle driver, Binod Rai, 38, son of Khang Bahadur Rai, a resident of Kamal Rural Municipality-6, Jhapa, was found dead in the accident. It is initially believed that he died on the spot.
Immediately after receiving information about the incident, a police team under the command of Deputy Superintendent of Police Kishore Lamsal was deployed from the Area Police Office, Damak, to register a case and initiate necessary investigation. The body has been sent to Mechi Provincial Hospital in Bhadrapur for post-mortem after completing legal procedures.
