A robbery has taken place in Jhagarpur Tole in Sekhuwa, Bajhechyandada, Sakela Rural Municipality-1. A complaint was filed with the police on Monday alleging that the house of 66-year-old local Gyan Bahadur Budathoki was robbed on Sunday.
At around 7 pm, two men, aged around 30/35, asked for shelter and at 9 pm, they tied the hands and feet of Gyan Bahadur's wife Chandra Kumari and the couple with wire and shawls and robbed them.
According to the victim's son-in-law, Lila Bahadur Khatri, they robbed them of one tola of gold, Rs 150,600 in cash and a mobile phone. After the robbers left, Khatri said that two of the three phones that were tied with shawls and wire were found at 12 midnight.
Three people, including one of the two involved in the robbery, had stayed at the house on Poush 2. Khatri said that a complaint was filed with the police on Poush 7 in this regard.
Khatri said that those involved in the robbery said that they had a house in Udayapur and were involved in the timber business. Police Inspector Sushant Mishra, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Khotang, said that an investigation into the incident is underway.
