Amit Yadav, a 34-year-old doctor doing an internship at Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar, died after falling from the fifth floor of the hospital on Sunday morning.

Yadav, who fell from the hospital building at around 6:30 am, was taken for treatment but died during treatment, police said.

Yadav, a resident of Jagadari, Rajbiraj Municipality, Saptari, had been interning at Nobel Medical College for the past few months after completing his MBBS studies.

DSP Kopila Chundal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Morang, said that an investigation is underway into why and how he fell from the fifth floor. According to initial police information, Yadav was suffering from mental health problems. However, police said that an investigation is underway to determine whether he committed suicide or fell accidentally.
