The Chasok Mela, which is held annually on the occasion of Chasok Tangnam, a cultural festival of the Limbu community, will be held from Push 10 to 20 this year.
The fair, which will be held at the Sumhatlung Gadi Temple premises in Phidim, the headquarters of Panchthar, will feature traditional products, cultural costumes, tableaux, and sports competitions, according to the organizer Sumjiri Sumhatlung Ambe Paj Conservation and Development Foundation.
According to Nanda Lawati, president of the foundation, the eighth Sumhatlung Mini Marathon will be accompanied by cultural tableaux and competitive programs based on ethnic costumes.
Separate competitions will be organized for men and women in the Sumhatlung Mini Marathon this year. In which there will be a marathon of 9.4 kilometers for men and 5.3 kilometers for women.
The fair is organized with the aim of preserving and promoting the historical and religious tourist site of Sumhatlung Temple and promoting tourism through sports and culture. This is the eighth year that the Chasok Mela and Sumhatlung Mini Marathon are being organized on the occasion of Chasok Tangnam.
