Electricity generation has declined due to the decrease in water levels in the river. The Amarpur substation in Panchthar, which has a capacity of 122.9 megawatts, is currently generating only about 54 megawatts.

According to an employee of Amarpur Sub-Station, on Wednesday morning, 2.17 MW of electricity was being generated from the 5.8 MW Upper Fawakhola United Hydropower, 2.68 MW from the 5 MW Fawakhola Shivani Hydropower, and 5.1 MW from the 9.7 MW Iwakhola.

Similarly, only 18.28 MW of electricity was being generated from the 45 MW capacity of Rairang, 25 MW capacity Kabeli B-1, and 9.7 MW capacity Kabeli Cascade, the technician said.

Only 25.15 MW of electricity is currently being generated from the three projects of Super Kabeli with a capacity of 47.7 MW. The technicians have said that the production will increase when the water level increases and will continue to decrease when it decreases.

They say that the production has started decreasing as the water level in the river starts to decrease after the month of Kartik. As of Wednesday morning, the Amarpur substation, which has a capacity of 122.9 megawatts, is generating 53.29 megawatts of electricity.
