Wild elephants have entered the village in the Handiya area of Chaudandigadhi Municipality-10 in Udayapur and are causing trouble.

Locals have complained that elephants entered the village at night and started destroying food grains and crops stored in their homes.

According to Shyam Narayan Chaudhary, last Saturday night, the fence of local Amrit Adhikari's house was destroyed and the crops were damaged. Similarly, Parshuram Hujdar informed that the elephants damaged the rice stored in the granary of his house. He said that the elephants entered at midnight and started eating plants around the house and destroying the granary and eating rice.

After the elephants started entering the villages at night, some villagers had to stay awake all night to keep the elephants away, said Sitaram Chaudhary.
