The rural municipality has granted two days off for the fair held in Meringden-2, Khamlung, from Poush 1 to 5 every year.
According to Acting Chief Administrative Officer Ratneshwor Prasad Shah, local holidays have been granted for Poush 3 and 4 as per the decision of the village executive. On the days of the holiday, government offices, community schools and organizations under the rural municipality will be closed, except for emergencies.
Although the fair lasts for 5 days, there is a special crowd on these two days. The fair includes activities ranging from agricultural products of the village to tourism promotion, sports and entertainment programs. Village Municipality Chairman Yuk Hanbir Hangam said that this fair has been held continuously for 52 years. International invitational volleyball competitions, badminton competitions and cultural festivals will also be held on the occasion of the fair, said Hem Chongwang, Chairman of the Puse Fair Operating Committee.
