A prisoner who escaped from Kathmandu's Sundhara Central Jail during the Gen-G movement has been arrested in Taplejung. The police have arrested Shankar Limbu alias Pradeep Lungwa, a resident of Khokling, Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-1, Taplejung, and a resident of Budhanilkantha Municipality-8, Kathmandu.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam, 34-year-old Shankar was arrested on the way.
According to Police Inspector Jatashankar Yadav, Information Officer of the District Police Office, he was convicted in a case of culpable homicide and sentenced to 10 years in prison by the court. It is mentioned that he absconded during the Genji movement while serving his sentence at the Jagannath Deval Central Jail, Sundhara.
Police claim that he was found hiding in the Birendra Chowk area of Phungling Municipality-5.
