One person has died and another has been injured after a school bus hit a car in Dharan.
On Wednesday morning, the accident occurred when the Bishnu Memorial School bus (No. KO 1 Ka 782) heading from Milan Chowk to Bhotepul in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-19 hit an auto (No. KO 1 Ha 8774) coming from the opposite direction on the inner road section at Milan Chowk in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-19, said Police Inspector Jeevan Kuwar of the Area Police Office, Dharan.
The auto driver, Nimesh Bhujel, 24, of Ekta Marg, Dharan-19, and the auto passenger, Sitaram Eva Limbu, 55, of Dharan-19, who were seriously injured in the accident, were immediately rescued and taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. However, the auto driver Bhujel died during treatment, said Police Inspector Kuwarle. The auto passenger, Limbu, is undergoing treatment, according to the police.
According to Police Inspector Kuwar, the accident occurred on the inner road section at Milan Chowk while the bus of Bishnu Memorial School in Dharan-9 was going to pick up students. He said that all the students on the bus are safe. ‘All the students on the bus are fine, there are no injuries,’ he said.
The Area Police Office, Dharan-14, has taken the school bus driver involved in the incident, Amir Tamang, 29, into custody and is conducting necessary investigations into the incident, the Area Police Office, Dharan, has said.
